As both an observer and creator of art, I am always looking for interesting subject matter. This display of lobster buoys hung on the exterior wall of a restaurant in Boston. Lobster fishermen (lobstermen) hand paint each buoy in one-of-a-kind colorful patterns that creates a functional piece of art. My paintings are often a visual record of a place, time, or experience. I was inspired by the color, form, and texture of the buoys. I wondered what stories lie in the lines, grooves, and worn paint. I think of this painting as art created from art.
